This artwork is inspired by a photograph
by gardening writer Cheryl Maddocks.

This artwork of a windswept field of poppies
might almost be called the battle of the poppies.
The left side of the artwork is weighted with red tones
while the right side of the painting leans towards green.

These are complimentary opposite colours
and could I suppose represent opposite sides
in any battle or viewpoint.
Interesting how finally a balance is achieved
in the overall work.

This is the poppy traditionally worn on Remembrance Day
to honour the fallen soldiers in the Fields of France
during World War 1.
