This is a metaphorical portrait of people as flowers.
Here we have bunches of beautiful roses.
Roses quite often come with both love and thorns.
Some though take the time, care and pay attention to detail
by removing the thorns before presenting their bouquet.
John Calvi is that sort of a person.
