PRIVATE COLLECTION

Here we are in earlier days at Circular Quay.
Evie Pikler (Neutral Bay resident) and the Artist wearing the 'green & gold'

Artist’s Note:

This painting (above) is the view from my friend Evie’s home unit

in Neutral Bay.

A most unusual medium to use concrete in a painting

but I figure this says something about Evie’s strength.

Perhaps Evie is the strongest person I know.

Evie has the lightness, happiness and theatricality

of a pink cloud but underlying is a most amazing capacity, endurance and will.

Or perhaps what we are seeing here is Evie as the golden sunlight

bursting like a firestorm over the Kirribilli/North Sydney Ridge!

Most of the time painting this canvas I spent

taking paint off the surface and even in some places broke through the canvas.

Evie is all about substance though rather than surface.

The breakthrough areas of the artwork are now glowing through with gold.

Evie is GOLD, GOLD, GOLD.

She has shone like gold her whole life. Shine on Evie. NW☺︎
